Greenside Bunkers | An introduction to playing a Greenside Bunker.

Greenside Bunkers are normally positioned either close too or on the edge of a Green. This type of Bunker is designed to guard areas of a Green such as the front / entrance to the Green or to create difficult Flag Placements for approach shots.

'Greenside Bunkers' tend to be deeper and have larger faces to play over when compared to most 'Fairway Bunkers', although there are a few exceptions around the world!

When playing from a 'Greenside Bunker' your 'Club Head' needs to be encouraged to strike down and through the sand to create an explosion of sand aimed at your ball which will push your ball up and out of the Bunker. If you combine the loft angle of your Clubface with a sound Hand & Arm Swing Technique then an explosion of sand will be driven on to the ball and push the ball up and out of the 'Bunker' you are playing from!

"Getting your ball out of a Bunker is always your first priority"!

I have divided my Greenside Bunker Instruction into 3 simple Lessons and these are;
