A 'Chip & Run Shot' is generally played after your approach shot has missed the green that you are playing too. This type of shot is played using a short-end Hand & Arm Swing and is played with a straighter faced club such as a 7 iron to get the ball to travel mainly along the ground and is used when you have a clear view of the flag and have plenty of green to work with.

Within my ' Chip & Run Lessons' I am going to give you a clear description of points to take into account before playing this type of 'Chip Shot' then I will talk about positions in your Address & Posture Position to create a foundation of Angles & Lines for your Hand & Arm Swing to perform from.

When working out how you are going to play out of the Bunker one of the most important points to consider is the Ball Flight. To do this effectively I would like to recommend comparing your Bunker Shot to an under arm throwing action and imagine yourself throwing your ball out of the 'Bunker'. Then try to picture the height and length of your Ball Flight and also try to picture your balls ideal Landing Area by taking into account how your ball will react when it lands on the green. This comparison will give you a clear idea as to how high and how hard to strike your ball when playing your shot.
