Lianna Bailey, secured the 2022 Big 12 Women’s Golf individual championship on Sunday, played at The Clubs, Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas. As a team, the Cowgirls earned a very impressive runner-up finish after carding an 8-over to finish 27-over on the weekend at the 6,356-yard, par-71 course.
With the win, Lianna became OSU’s first individual champion since Kenzie Neisen in 2016. It marked the 10thtime a Cowgirl has won the individual title while she became the seventh different Oklahoma State competitor to do so.
A senior from Leicester, England, Lianna earned her third individual title of her collegiate career with the win and her first of the season.
With a finishing 77 on Sunday after being 6 over par thru her first 5 holes she finished the weekend 2-over to secure a 1 shot victory. Overall, two Cowgirls finished in the top-5 in the individual competition with Han-Hsuan You tied 3rd.
The OSU Cowgirls Team now head home to play in the NCAA Regional Championship with the top 4 teams qualifying for the National Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club, Scottsdale, Arizona in June.
