When playing a Chip Shot it’s important to manage the ‘Risk’ in the shot by considering all the information the shot is offering. This will help to build a picture of the shot you intend to play so you see the shot before you play it. This will also help to mentally immerse you in the shot, thus encouraging a more committed swing motion! Getting the ball on the ground quickly with your landing area, rather than flying the ball through the air, will greatly reduce ‘Risk’ in the shot. Playing a ‘Chip & Run Shot’ is a great shot to play as it’s one of the easiest and most effective shots with fewer moving parts, so there’s less to go wrong.
